How to add Avalanche to Metamask

Cryptocurrency users and investors who want to access the Avalanche blockchain and its associated DApps need a compatible wallet such as MetaMask. To use Avalanche tokens on this wallet, you must add the Avalanche network details to the extension. This guide will show you how to do it quickly and efficiently so that you can start using your AVAX tokens right away.

How to Add Avalanche Network to Your MetaMask Wallet

Open the MetaMask wallet extension and locate the network dropdown menu. This menu is located in the top-right corner of the browser window, just underneath the “Account” button. It will display a list of all connected networks that you have added to your wallet, including Ethereum Mainnet, Ropsten, Kovan, etc. To add Avalanche to your wallet, click on the “Add Network” button, which will open a new page where you can enter all of the necessary details for the network. Copy and paste the following details into their respective fields, then click on “Save” to complete the setup process:

– Network Name:  Avalanche

– New RPC URL: https://endpoints.omniatech.io/v1/avax/mainnet/public

– Chain ID: 43114

– Symbol: AVAX

– Block Explorer URL: https://snowtrace.io

Congratulations! Your MetaMask wallet is now connected to the Avalanche network and ready to start using your AVAX tokens.

*Refer Chainlist for latest RPC details.

How to Transfer AVAX Tokens from Another Wallet into MetaMask

If you already have Avalanche (AVAX) tokens stored in another wallet and would like to transfer them to your MetaMask wallet, the process is fairly straightforward. There are a few main steps you will need to take in order to successfully complete the transfer.

First, locate the address for your MetaMask wallet. This will be a long string of numbers and letters, starting with the letter “A” or “0x”. Make sure you double-check the address before sending any tokens as there is no way to reverse the transaction if you send them to an incorrect address.

Next, open the wallet that is currently storing your AVAX tokens and select the “Send” option. You will then paste in the MetaMask address from earlier (making sure it is correct) and enter the amount of tokens you would like to transfer. Carefully review all of the details before hitting send.

Once the transaction is confirmed on both sides, your AVAX tokens will be successfully transferred to your MetaMask wallet. Note that it may take a few minutes for the tokens to show up in your wallet’s balance.

Conclusion

Adding Avalanche to Metamask is a simple process that can be completed in just a few steps. By following the instructions outlined above, you will have your AVAX tokens stored safely and securely within minutes. Transferring existing tokens from another wallet into MetaMask is also straightforward and should only take a few moments for the transaction to complete. With these tools at your disposal, you can now start exploring all of the amazing DApps available on the Avalanche network with confidence!
